Meditation apps are really changing the game. Users can even listen to different voices that suit and helps them with their mindfulness journey.

Not only that, but since the trend of meditation apps boomed a few years back, some apps even put their own themes as diverse as anxiety, sleep, and relationships to help users achieve a sense of relaxation.

The way people view mental health has really progressed over the years and can be a subject of controversy too. It’s no wonder why even the biggest Hollywood stars are jumping into mindfulness and meditation apps.

You know they love the drama.

All new wellness fads usually start with Hollywood’s prominent faces, and it appears that meditation has become all the rage, and for a good cause.

There are different types of meditation, just pick one

Meditation can take many different forms. Over the centuries, meditation practice has evolved in different styles or techniques.

For example: mindfulness, loving-kindness, and visualization.

That is to say that meditation is an old practice. It is believed to have originated in India thousands of years ago, long before meditation apps exist.

It doesn’t matter much which type of meditation you use. What’s more important is setting aside time to do it.

Your mental health will thank you for it.

The stress of “fame” or whatever is making the Hollywood stars use and invest in meditation apps

  1. Glorify meditation app for Christians

When I read the news about Kris Jenner and Michael Buble investing $40 million in a Christian meditation app, I couldn’t stop thinking about writing about it.

The Glorify app offers daily devotionals, prayers, reflections, biblical meditations, and prayer lists for around $50 for their yearly subscription. The Christian meditation app also aims in:

“reimagining how we connect with God through technology. “

2. Calm meditation app to help you sleep at night

Calm is free to download by anyone in 2022. If you choose to sign up for a 7-day trial, you’ll automatically be enrolled in Calm Premium. That costs $69.99 a year or $14.99 a month.

If you decide you don’t want to pay for the premium then you can totally cancel your subscription one day before the trial ends.

The funny but extremely profitable part of meditation apps being trendy in Hollywood is that there’s actually an app where you can listen to your favorite artists or celebrities read a bedtime story to you.

Yes, that includes Harry Styles for anyone who is into that. You’re welcome.

Other celebrities in the Calm app that can read you a bedtime story at night include:

  • Harry styles, Dream With Me
  • Jake Gyllenhaal, The Great Gatsby (Sorry Swifties)
  • Anne Hathaway, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
  • Benedict Cumberbatch, Sherlock Holmes
  • Rachel McAdams, Anne of Green Gables
  • Nicole Kidman, To the Lighthouse
  • Tom Hanks, The Dutch House

3. Chris Hemsworth invests in Centr, a fitness and nutrition app with meditation features

How much does it cost to meditate with Thor on the Centr app?

Well, Centr is a lot more expensive than other apps I’ve used on the market. But, Centr has other features and is for more than meditating and seeing your favorite hunk topless.

Centr costs around $10 a month if you subscribe to a 12-month contract or $30 month to month until you decide to stop the subscription.

The subscription cost for Centr includes access to your personalized fitness and nutrition plan — they come with amazing recipes — and of course, a wellness and meditation plan.

This fitness and wellness app is currently available via iOS app on your iPhone, Apple Watch, and YouTube.

If you’re the kind of person who values being healthy physically and mentally then I recommend this Centr app for you.

Not to mention Chris Hemsworth is funny AF, and training with him is a lot more entertaining than any of my previous gym instructors.

How to properly meditate according to Harvard Health

There are many reasons why meditation is important, regardless if you use an app on your phone or just prefer doing it amidst quietness.

Although meditation has been practiced for thousands of years, research on its health benefits is recent, yet promising.

Meditation was found to be beneficial for reducing anxiety, pain, and sadness in a study published in JAMA Internal Medicine in January 2014.

Meditation was about as effective as an antidepressant in treating depression.

These are the general guidelines for meditation that Harvard Health published:

  • Set aside a place to meditate.
  • Surround your meditation spot with candles, fresh flowers, incense, or any objects you can use to focus your practice (such as a photo, crystal, or religious symbol).
  • Sit comfortably in a chair or on the floor with your back straight.
  • Close your eyes, or focus your gaze on the object you’ve chosen.
  • Breathe slowly, deeply, and gently.
  • Keep your mind focused inward or on the object. If it wanders, gently steer it back to the center.
  • Breathe peace and quiet into your heart and mind.

(Note that the specifics of your meditation practice depend on the type of meditation you use.)
